Lille shot-stopper and 2014 African best runner-up has congratulated his counterpart on winning the 2014 African best player for fourth-time.
Manchester City hitman Yaya Toure was crowned the 2014 Africa Player of the Year for a record four consecutive time, and his competition, Enyeama, disclosed that he respects the outcome of the votes that ultimately decided the winner.
“It doesn’t count. It pains me that Nigeria will not be at the Africa Cup of Nations and for the award, I support the decision of tonight, a big congratulation to him [Yaya] and I thank God for him,” said Enyeama via Goal.
Yaya bagged the award for a fourth straight time after raking in 175 of the votes, while Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang polled 120, leaving Nigeria’s Enyeama to settle for third-place with 105 points.
