Emenike’s Goal Drought Continues

Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike continued his barren run in front of goal last night when Fenerbahce went,saw and conquered at the İzmir Atatürk stadium where they defeated their host, Altinordu in a replay of their Ziraat Turkish Cup Group E tie.

This fixture was abandoned on December 30,2014 due to a water logged pitch.

The Nigerian who has scored only twice for the Istanbul giants in the 14 games he has so far played was on for 83 minutes but could not find the back of the net as Fenerbahce courtesy a 79th minute Yusuf Abdioglu’s own goal recorded a 2-1 win to draw level on seven points with group leaders Kayserispor.

Emenike last scored a goal for Fenerbahce on November 2,2014 when he scored on three minutes in the 2-0 away bashing of Demba Ba’s Besiktas in a Super Lig game.
