“STRICTLY” is the lead single from “The Brilliant EP” by Nigerian rap artist, BREIS (breeze). “Strictly” was produced by BREIS and Leroy Brown and is an Afrobeat flavoured single featuring the sweet Zimbabwean vocals of Eska Mtungwazi. Eska’s lush melodies and BREIS’ raw delivery sound brilliant together on this Hip Hop – Afro beat fusion. The Brilliant EP will be available digitally on March 25.
“This one is for Africa and the Diaspora,” says BREIS. “It’s for those that positively contribute to society but are ignored or unseen. I’m saluting them on this song.”
In the video for Strictly, there are no yachts, unaffordable cars or irreverent depictions of abject poverty (Rick Ross style). Instead we see BREIS writing some bars in the studio and then joining friends and family on the beach in Lagos, Nigeria. Definitely an artist to keep an eye on this year.
