With less than half the English Premier League season remaining, we are looking at the top five teams predicted to claim the 2020/2021 EPL title, by the bookmakers.

Chelsea/Tottenham @ 81/1 [82.00] [+8100]

Both clubs have shared happy moments sitting in the first place of the Premier League this season, but a lack of points since the new year now leaves two of London’s finest as the least favourable to claim the EPL title this season.

Chelsea’s appointment of Frank Lampard was a fresh restart. With a full season in front of him, the former Chelsea player has put his expertise behind introducing a young team and a plethora of new transfers, probably due to being starved in buying squad members last season Chelsea’s transfer ban. Another rocky start to a season had critics question his ability, claiming a minor two from their first five season games.

Frank Lampard managed to flip his team’s results during the winter months, consistent results put Chelsea top of the league, but it did not take long before Chelsea’s inconsistencies continued. Poor form into the new year leaves them with two wins in their previous seven games which have run since boxing day.

Chelsea’s hopes of winning the Premier League look slim, but it would not be a complete surprise with the dramatic results thus far.

Tottenham Hotspur has also shared joyous moments sitting on top of the Premier League, but Mourinho allowing his squad to sit back after a one-goal lead is causing issues. Too many drawn fixtures that should have been comfortable wins are now resulting in crucial lost points.

Leicester @ 50/1 [51.00] [+5000]

Leicester have had some issues of their own, but more consistency has avoided the increase in drawn games like their peers Chelsea & Tottenham.

The problem that has caused Leicester to allow the first position to slip out of their grasp has been home match performances. Future results might be affected by the absence of Jamie Vardy but at the current price of 51.00, ignoring this value could be costly if the most promising club’s crumble.

Liverpool @ 10/1 [11.00] [+10000]

The defending champions have taken a dramatic price increase at the bookmakers, since the beginning of 2021 they have suffered three domestic losses, including two 1-0 defeats to Burnley & Brighton, respectively.

These results do not reflect the Liverpool squad that effortlessly dominated last season’s competition. Jurgen Klopp’s injury woes have plagued his team. With the rise in schedule due to the Pandemic, team rotation has been an issue.

Liverpool can retain their EPL title, but critical players and long-term absences could be the dream killer for Liverpool this season.

Manchester United @ 8/1 [9.00] [+800]

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keeps on shocking the world. When you thought Manchester United were heading towards a rough patch, a 9-0 hammering over Southampton placed them three points shy of their rivals, and the current 1st set EPL team Manchester City.

The firepower in the final third at United this term is on fire; nobody has scored more goals than Manchester United with forty-six netted.

However, with just two wins in their previous five EPL fixtures, United cannot allow crucial points to evade them with the ultra-strong form of Manchester City proving undeniable at this point.

Manchester City @ 0.16/1 [1.16] [-625]

The bookmaker’s favourite to win the EPL title has remained in Manchester City’s hands since the beginning of the season, and not much as changed besides the price.

A rocky start for the favourites to win did not last long, Manchester City found their stride and are now on a ten-game win streak in the EPL.

Placing a bet on Manchester City at the current odds is almost pointless, and considering the separation is currently three points, everything is still to play for.
