Shots fired as Rick Ross and Young Jeezy fight at the BET Hip Hop Awards

Reports say a fight broke out between rappers Rick Ross and Young Jeezy at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2012 which led to gun shots being fired.

TMZ reports that the rappers Ross and Jeezy exchanged had heated words backstage, pushing and shoving each other. The BET security team and the rappers’ personal bodyguards had to intervene, according to reports.

Reports say a man from Rick Ross’ camp in the parking lot area of the Atlanta’s Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Centre then pulled out a gun and released a couple of shots.

AllHiphop reports that the building was temporarily shut down while the Chris Lighty tribute was taking place.

Ross and Jeezy remained at the awards. Popular DJ, Funk Master Flex says at least one person was arrested.

Both rappers signed to Def Jam records have had a history of beef. Ross has in the past has ‘dissed’ Young Jeezy in his mixtapes, claiming he (Ross) is now a favourite at the label while Jeezy’s works keep getting ‘pushed back’ (delayed).

The beef however started in August 2010 when Young Jeezy recorded his own version of Ross’ ‘B.M.F’ and took verbal shots at the chubby rapper. Jeezy was somewhat not happy at Ross for associating himself with the BMF clan (Big Meech,) who is Jeezy’s personal friend.
