SA hip hop is slowly proving solidarity and unity lately and seemingly the beefs would be a thing of yesterday since the goal is to illuminate and grow the genre.

Rapper Mthembeni Ndevu popularly known as Emtee has been making headlines since last week for the reasons concerning his label Ambitiouz Entertainment which he has made clear he wants to break away from but can’t. Speaking to various publications includes TshisaLIVE and City Press Emtee stated that he wants out of AE and is working on having a peaceful departure.

“Ambitiouz owner Kgosi Mahumapelo doesn’t want me to leave, but it isn’t up to him and I made it clear that I want a new start. If I do things the right way, I believe that it will be resolved. I still wanna make music. I have been through the most and I am unbreakable. I am not angry or mad. I will get through this.” Said the Roll Up hitmaker.

“Sometimes you work with people you disagree or agree with and it’s okay. Business is business. I am not going to let people take advantage of the situation.” — Emtee in a recent interview with City Press.

The part that got people enraged from the reports was the fact that the rapper can’t leave the stable due to the millions he allegedly owes them and the contractual terms he’s obliged to abide by.

Rapper Reason recently tweeted that he and other rappers have been in talks to help release Emtee.

“It warms my heart to find myself constantly in conversations with fellow musicians who want to get involved in helping @emteethehustla_ in one way or another.

Saving Emtees career, is actually saving his Children and Family’s future. More so, we would be saving a REAL TALENT,” he wrote.

There’s no telling what steps the rappers have taken thus far but it’s obvious action will be taken.
