A girl named Ruqayyat, has been duped of N14, 000 right inside the banking hall of Guaranty Trust Bank, in Opebi Lagos state, on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
According to Newsbreak, Ruqayyat was approached by a well-suited man inside the bank, asking if she has a bank Verification number. When she said no, the man who pretended to be a staff of the bank gave her a form to fill and told her he will help in fast-tracking the deposit she wants to make as she fills the BVN form.
She, however, proceeded to fill the form while she kept an eye on the man, who she saw having a conversation with one of the tellers.
However, when she was done filling the BVN form, she looked up and could not find the man anymore. When she realised she has been duped, Ruqayyat started crying. She made it known that the money was meant for her boss who she’d just started working with in less than two weeks.
“The money belongs to my boss. I have just been employed two weeks ago and I don’t know where to get a refund for her,” Ruqayyat told Newsbreak.
Many bank customers were in disbelief about Rukayat’s story, while a bank security guard ordered her out of the hall.
