The new product was conceived last year to provide Nigerians an opportunity to enjoy a drink from their roots boasting of at least 14 natural ingredients, amazing alcopop taste, and less sugar and alcohol.
The launch of Ace Roots is coming on the heels of other successful firsts, like Star Lite – Nigeria’s first temperature sensitive beer, Star Raddler, Ace Passion and Breezer – which signaled NB’s entry into the RTD market in 2014.
‘We’re a company of firsts’, says Corporate Affairs Adviser Kufre Ekanem. ‘No other company knows Nigeria and Nigerians like Nigerian Breweries. Today, with the introduction of this fantastic, rich drink Ace Roots, we further show that deep understanding of not just our people, but of our roots, of who we are and where we are.’
With over 12 brands including market leaders like Star, Gulder, Maltina, Amstel Malta and Heineken, on its shelve already, NB says Ace Roots is an addition Nigerians will love to love. ‘Nigerians are now more conscious of what they consume like never before. Just as we are more aware of what makes us thick. There’s definitely no better time to be excited about our roots, and the drink that captures and celebrates that essence…’
This is the first product launch since the company’s widely acclaimed merger with Consolidated Breweries, which received regulatory approval on December 31, 2014.
Ace Roots was officially introduced to stakeholders in Lagos on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Havens Event Centre in Ikeja with key distributors, stakeholders and celebrities like Wande Coal, Black Magic, BEAT FM OAP, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Korede Bello, EFA and DJ Lamboghiny in attendance.
Also present were representatives from Nigerian Breweries including the Sales Director, Hubert Eze , Zonal Regional Manager, Opeyemi Oluwalusi, Senior Brand Manager, CSD and ACE, Nnenna Ifebigh-Hemeson, Regional Business Manager, Moses Ogbodo and Marketing Manager, Non-Alcoholic Drinks, Olayinka Bakare.
