The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the House of Representatives by-election held at Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency in Ondo State, yesterday inconclusive.

The difference in declared votes between Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is 1300, while the rejected votes was more than 1800.

This, according to the Returning Officer for the Poll, a Professor from Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Babatunde Adeyemi has violated the electoral law.

Adeyemi explained that the margin of votes between contestants must be more than number of cancelled votes.

Already, INEC has compiled other results for remaining wards for the two local governments.

The results are as follow: ACD 137, APC 9232, DPP 278, LP 23926, PDC 173, PDP 22628 and PPA 81 votes.

However, Adeyemi said INEC will look into the disruption of Arugbo ward two election, which was allegedly hijacked by suspected militants on the waterways.

The returning officer said, it would be wrong for the electoral powerhouse not to allow electorates from Arugbo ward two, who were about 7000 to take part in the election.

DailyPost learnt that the hoodlums allegedly disrupted the election because that ward was a stronghold of the PDP in that Council
