I’m Travelling Out Of Nigeria With My Family – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan

President Goodluck has told the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he plans to take a short break outside the country with his family to rest and recuperate.

The president is likely to take this break shortly after handing over power to the incoming administration of Mohammadu Buhari on May 29.

According to Vanguard, revealed this at a closed door meeting with the leadership of the party at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday, May 13.

The meeting was meant to end the lingering crisis in the party after the general elections in which some PDP governors, party leaders, stakeholders and members have been calling for the sacking of the present National Working Committee, under Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu.

President urged the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to put behind them the defeat the party suffered during the March 28 presidential election. He also vowed to return stronger to help rebuild the party after taking a short break outside the country with his family.

thanked the members of the NWC for their support and heaped blame on his very close aides for the loss the party suffered. However, he promised that the PDP would bounce back to winning ways.

Meanwhile, some associates of President decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the electoral woes the PDP suffered in the just concluded general elections. The defectors are lawmakers representing the president’s constituency at the National and State Assembly.
