Popular Dj, Sodamola Oluseye Desmond, who goes by the name Spinall commented on the attitudes of some entertainers towards criticisms.
He claims regardless of who you are, he would always bare his mind about the true state of your craft. He highlighted that it is extremely important to appreciate his efforts, since he is doing it on goodwill.
“Those that know me quite well, will know am not a shady person. I am very blunt, whether you are a king or a messiah, if you have come to ask my honest opinion about something, be sure you won’t get nothing less than an honest opinion,”
“I don’t care about how you feel, you can take care of your feelings, that’s practically none of my business, you have only come to ask me something that you ought to pay for,”
“The fact that you are asking me to give you an honest opinion about how I feel about your song, in that case, I have to be real with you, but also one has to think about the fact that not everybody likes the truth. How you take it is left to you, am only doing you a favour by telling you the truth,”
“It doesn’t matter your status, who you are, I really cannot be in the middle, if you want me to listen to your stuff, first and foremost, you have to know that its consultation and you are supposed to pay for it, but if you are not paying for it, am telling you how I feel, you have to really appreciate my efforts.”
Spinall is a multiple award winning Dj, fondly called TheCAP (The Crazy Azz Party). He is the first Nigerian Dj to be endorsed by any brand in Africa, and the first African Dj to tour in the United States.
He started calling himself Spinall in 2003 before he was signed to Mavin Records in 2013 which he is no longer under. Spinall just as the name implies signifies a disc jockey who plays all kinds of genre of music, he is not restricted to any specific genre, his style of play has been tagged by many as ‘fearless’ as a result of his ability to bring all kinds of music in one playlist, these differentiated him out from the lots and won him several awards
