Yeah, in case you didn’t know, amongst several other things, recording artist, Susan “Goldie” Harvey, is a UN Ambassador, and part of her duties in that capacity include youth enlightenment campaigns.
On the 14th of November, Goldie joined other ambassadors in visiting several secondary schools in Lagos which include Diadem College and CMS Grammar School, where she shared experiences with the teens, and identified with issues they were going through at the current age.
After telling her own humbling story of losing her beloved mother as a child, and how she had to work to support herself as an undergraduate, Goldie encouraged the students to follow hard after their dreams and not rely totally on parental support. It wasn’t all talk though, as the star took a brief moment to thrill the students to some of her hit tracks like “Jawo Jawo”.
Presently in South Africa shooting videos for her soon to be released singles, “Miliki”, “Give it to Me” and “Skibobo”, she is a firm believer in building and encouraging both the intellectual and creative aspects of the African child for a better continent.
