2014 African Music Magazine Music Awards held last night at the Eisemann Center in Texas. The African Music Magazine Awards is the only music awards show organised in the Diaspora that caters to all musical genres including but not limited to: Afrobeats, Assiko, Bongo, Decale, Funana, Genge, Highlife, Hiplife, Kwaito, Lingala and Soukous.
The hosts of the show Basketmouth and Juliet Ibrahim did dazzle the audience. Basketmouth would crack ajokeeach time, and Juliet just brightened the whole place with her beauty
The show was a spectacular event with performances from Africa’s finest artistes like Stanley Enow, Togah Howard, Iyanya, Davido, and several others.
Neither Sarkodie or Shatta Wale from Ghana and other competitors couldn’t win the best male artiste in the West Africa Category, as the 2014 BET African Act Award winner snatched the glory from them by taking that award in his category and also winning the overall artisteof the year.
Efya also lost to Tiwa Savage for best female artiste in west africa. Shatta Waleand Samini did not also win their category for Best Dancehall artiste as Timaya from Nigeria took that from them Ghana couldn’t win the major awards but Dj Black won Best Dj from Africa, Sarkodie wins Best Rap Artiste and Fuse ODG wins Best male Artiste in the Diaspora.
