The Sky Blues have a tough task ahead of them at Camp Nou on Wednesday, needing to overturn a 2-1 deficit after losing the first leg in Manchester.Because of the away goals rule a 1-0 win will not be enough for City, who need to score at least twice to stand any chance of qualifying.

The Manchester club has invested vast sums of money into its playing staff and Toure has called on his teammates to start paying that back to fans by performing on the pitch.

“The club have been spending a lot of money to build the best players, try to make this club great and one of the top in Europe,” he told reporters.

“Now we have such a little bit of difficulty but I can say we continue to work hard because it’s not the first time we’ve been in this situation.”

We have the belief of the team and, as well, we know our fans will back us again because it’s going to be a tough game against Barcelona.

“We need to turn back this tide and we try to do it for the fans and for the club and forthe people who continue to help us.”

City have played Barcelona on three separate occasions, losing all three times, but they received red cards in all of those games.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini believes it will be a different story if they can keep all 11 players on the pitch for the duration this time around.

“We are not going to play against an easy team but I’m sure that if the three ties we played before were 11 v 11 it could have been different,” he said.

“We are going to have bad moments during the game but we have a team that can do its best in this type of game.”
