Argentina legend Diego Maradona has described Manchester United manager Louis van Gaalas being ‘close to the devil’ due to his treatment of on-loan striker Radamel Falcao.
The Colombian international has struggled for game time since moving to Old Trafford from Monaco in the summer on a temporary deal.
The 29-year-old was widely expected to sign a permanent contract at the end of the season, but due to scoring just four goals and making 12 Premier League appearances, that outcome is unlikely.
“Van Gaal is not a cool guy,” Maradona told reporters at a press conference in Colombia.
“He is closer to the devil than anything else.
“Falcao was conditioned due to his severe injury. Moving from France to England was tough and he needed to adapt himself.”
It is unclear whether Falcao will play a part in Sunday’s derby against Manchester City at Old Trafford.
